The FREEDOM Fare System is an advanced fare collection system that makes riding PATCO more convenient than ever. It uses state-of-the-art smart cards, paper tickets, automated ticket machines, entry/exit gates and parking gates- all linked together to streamline your travel.

FREEDOM Cards The smart choice for PATCO frequent riders It's a “stored-value” card (like an E-ZPass) with a tiny computer chip and mini-antenna inside. Available for purchase for $5.00 at any PATCO ticket vending machine with cash or a debit/credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or American Express). Seniors, Disabled persons and transit benefit customers must visit a FREEDOM Service Center to receive their card. FREEDOM Cards are only accepted at PATCO fare gates. |

FREEDOM SHARE Cards The smart choice for PATCO, SEPTA & Transit Benefit Riders These cards have the same benefits of FREEDOM Cards but have the added convenience of being accepted at SEPTA Key Card readers. These cards are only available at a FREEDOM Service Center. Learn more. |

Transit Benefit Cards (T-Cards) The choice for Transit Benefit riders. FREEDOM T-Cards (PATCO Use Only) and SHARE T-Cards (PATCO & SEPTA Use) are only available at a FREEDOM Service Center. Learn more. |

Paper Tickets Occasional rider? If you ride occasionally, paper tickets may be a better option for you. These magnetic stripe paper tickets are valid for 3 days from the date of purchase and they can be purchased with cash, debit/credit card or a FREEDOM Card from the ticket vending machines.

Balance Protection (optional) If you lose your FREEDOM card, simply call the FREEDOM Card Service Center (877-373-6777) and report the card missing. The service center can then disable that FREEDOM card and preserve the value that is stored on the card. You can obtain a new FREEDOM card which will include the previous balance. The Service Center will issue a new card for a $5 replacement fee. |
